MIDWAY SOUTH

This week has been great so far but it has been so different! So yeah I am now in the Midway south area! I love it here so much in this new area but it was so hard to leave Chicago 4th ward! I feel a little homesick for there but since I had to leave, here is the best place that I could be!

So my new companion is Elder Perez. I have served around him before and this week has been great! We teach super well together so in all of the lessons that we have had, the spirit has been so strong in all of them! It’s funny to see all of the styles of all of the different missionaries! His old companion was one that was just super bold and always going 100 miles an hour and then I am completely different, I just like to show the people how much love The Lord has for them.  They are all great it is just the way everything works! My companion is from El Salvador but he lived in San Francisco.  The whole feel of the south side is different from the north side because up there it was all about loving others and everything and it is more business down here so I am trying to make it more of a mixture of them both. I love it here though and am excited for this change!  I have already found so many reasons why I am here though! So this week I gave my testimony yesterday in church and this lady came up to me after and was like I love your testimony what area are you in. I told her that I was in the south and she was like perfect, I have someone who some missionaries have stopped by but I think that you are perfect for them! It just made me so happy to hear that and I love this area.

We live with a member family and they are truly amazing! Their name is the familia Rojas and they have 6 boys and they are about to have another girl! I honestly love it. I feel super homesick for fourth ward just because of how much I loved the people there but I know that is how this ward will be too.  Anyways I love it here and I hope that you are having a great day!

ps I might go to the temple on Saturday so that may be our pday but I am not sure!

CHINATOWN AND GOING TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO

This photo was us at china town last week on pray
Yeah I will be leaving! I am now going to go down to the Midway ward to serve with an Elder named Elder Perez! He is amen amazing missionary and he is the one who trained Elder Martinez! I am super excited because I have heard so many great things about him! I am so sad to be leaving this ward though! I love it here so much and I love the people more than anything! The hardest part is leaving the familia Vazquez though. It kills me every time I think of leaving anyone here but The Lord has a purpose for everything. He has already done so much putting me in Chicago and in this ward because it is perfect for me!

But anyways my new area is on the south side so I am excited to see how that's like ;)  also, Oscar Reyes (from 3rd ward) his dad lives in that ward so I already feel like there's a reason why I am going there! But I honestly am dead tired though because I have been getting stuff ready all day to get transferred so that's why it is so short today. I have tons and tons of pictures though so I will send those all over to you! Love you mom!

Always remember how much I love you mom! I now realize how huge of a blessing it is to have you and dad sealed in the temple and to have been raised in a family with the gospel. I honestly think I am one of the most blessed people on Earth! Thank you so much and have a great day! Love you tons!

This is the familia Gonzalez but one of their daughters is on vacation so she's missing.

FAMILIA RACOON

These undies were a gift from someone in a package

Sorry for not sending a very good email last week but anyways, these last two weeks have been great.

But to start off, last week we saved a family's life, a family of raccoons ;) so last Wednesday we were up at the church and one of the other elders was throwing something away in the dumpster and sees them so we all go out there and are just looking at them for a minute. So we ended up going to go do something and then we had to be back at the church so we are there a few hours later and the family was still in there.  I learned something new this day though, I thought that raccoons were ballers like cats and could jump up way high so we thought they could jump out or even jump on me and attack me, but theyre not theyre just high rollers.  So we ended up getting a big piece of wood and sticking it in there so they could get out and then we saved their family because they were stuck before. Right when they got out they just ran away but now we are homies for life.
Then this week we got to have a mini missionary come with us! His name was Juan Reyes and he just barely turned sixteen. He is in another ward but the stake did it so he was with us for 3 days.  We had so much fun with him but we felt bad because we worked his butt off the first day and he was talking about his butt hurt from the seat and then he was sore and everything. So after we killed him the next day we decided to take things a little easier so we just made him eat 3 different times.  We were laughing because we all felt so sick after. Then on Sunday we had a testimony meeting with all of the youth that did it and we told him to get up and be like "oh shout out to my boys Elder Lee and Elder Eichers."  We did it as a joke but he got up there and did it so we were laughing so hard! But it was such a great experience because before the weekend he was a little shaky on if he wanted to go on a mission but at the testimony meeting he said now he wants to go when he turns 18! We were so happy and the whole thing was such a success.

But the things that have been stressing me out lately is that I got my haircut today and the lady cut it super short so now I look like I am in the MTC again. I am not going to lie I am sad about it and I miss having my old hair.. That is just a physical short thing though but this week with transfers coming up next week has been so stressful. So we had a zone meeting on this Thursday and President Woodbury pulled me aside after and was was just asking me some normal questions and then he asked me on how I felt on staying or going, when he asked I had no words I just like mumbeled because my emotions are so mixed. I know that I don't want to leave the familia Vazquez because it is such a crucial part with everything that is happening.  I just love them so much and she was talking the other day about how she felt like we promised to be there through it all and she still remembers Elder Martinez so I want to be here so bad.  I just don't know if The Lord needs me here or somewhere else. There is so much going on with them but I feel like I should keep it to myself.. Also I feel bad to kick Elder Lee out of his first area and everything so I just am so nervous with what is going to happen for this week.  What happens affects not only me but their family and also Elder Lee.   But I have faith The Lord knows what is going on and no matter what it will be the right decision. I may not see it right at first but in the long run it will all be okay.

I love you though and thank you for the package! I loved it all but please no more clothes! I have more than I can deal with right now, ties and everything are great just I have about 20 shirts in my closet so I think I am good for the rest of my mission.  But I love you so much and I hope that you have a great week!

FAST SUNDAY TIE

Mom! This week has been great! We had some huge miracles this week but we don't have very much time to email today so anyways everything is great! The familia Vazquez is progressing so well! Still no luck with the marriage and everything but they are falling in love with each other again so it is truly amazing! Their faith is increasing and their family is changing for the BETTER! They are so different now than they were when we first found them and I am just so happy to be here with them! They are my second family and I love them more than anything! Saturday I wasn't feeling great and she made me take so many different types of Medicine and it just reminded me of you! She was just doing everything to know I was okay!

I am so happy to be a missionary and to be serving with all of these families! I love it here so much! Next weeks letter will be much longer though!  This is the vazquez family and fast sunday tie! Luvs ya mom
