TEMPLE, PRESIDENT WOODBURY

We were all pretty exhausted and slept in this morning.  Brad and Garrett went to fix Garrett's cell phone at the Apple Store, where they just missed rioters that shut down the north side of Michigan Avenue.  We then drove to Glenview, in the suburbs.  The homes and area is gorgeous with lots of trees and green grass.

Our first stop was the temple.  It was windy and cold but we were able to stand outside and get some photographs.

We then went to President and Sister Woodbury's home.  Garrett reminded us not to hug them.  When we went in Sister Woodbury gave us a big hug.  haha.  We had a long conversation with the Woodburys.  They told us a couple of things about Garrett.

We tried to visit the mission office on Waukegan Road, but it was closed.  Dang!

We went about another ten minute drive until we reached the "Home Alone" house where the film was said to be made.  Garrett took a photo of him doing the Kevin face where in the movie Kevin shaves and then puts on cologne, stinging his face.

We stopped at one of Garrett's favorite Chicago  t-shirt shops in the back of a mexican market.  Shirts were $11 a piece.

We drove back to the hotel In the City and Stephanie, Sam and baby El stayed for the evening while we went on to other homes.  We went to Logan Square area where we had dinner at El Gordos, an authentic mexican restaurant.  We met Rosie Vasquez and -------------- there and then went to their home for a short visit.  Rosie asked us if we wanted any desert, and we said no that we were full.  Next thing we knew we all had two pieces of pie on a plate in our hands.  We told Garrett we now know why you get fed so much -- its either a language barrier or they don't take no for an answer.

The last family we visited was the Puentes family.  The sweetest family every.  They had two chichuas - Chiquita and Sugar.  Each time we stood up they went historical barking.
